A Life Without You

A Series Of Poems

A Poem By: Martina Garcia

cable rides

rainy days and water slides

lights left on

papers in exchange for pizza

friends like you are rare

i do not know if that is good or bad

but for now, it is reckless and childish

and this is the year i want to live

time will pass and our paths will separate

but for now, you are still standing next to me

laugh at my past as i shape my future

remind me how rare i am

laugh at the boys who still try

i think i want to keep you for a while

so before you leave give me more five a.m. park talks

cable rides that will charge me up

show me how to live

keep me alive
