A Life Without You

A Series Of Poems

A Poem By: Martina Garcia

puzzle pieces

once upon a time we were happy

we were young and nervous

two kids attempting to put our broken pieces together like a puzzle

but we were two separate pieces from entirely different puzzles

our edges could never fit, but we forced it

we survived the hard days

the crying, the yelling, packing our bags

we almost made it through everything

almost.

when did you realize i was not the right piece

you say you are not happy but why do i have so many pictures of you smiling beside me

we were never going to complete each other, but maybe we can complete ourselves

it takes time to put all the pieces together

but when it is done i hope to see a picture of us smiling again, maybe it will be real this time.
